New England went into day 3 with only offensive players drafted. The Patriots also went into day 3 with two fourth round picks, two sixth round picks, and one seventh round selection.
With the third pick in round four the Patriots selected Layden Robinson, a guard from Texas A&M. Seven selections later, New England wide receiver Javon Baker from UCF was drafted.
Baker after being drafted trended on Social Media after saying “Bring your popcorn. I make people in wheelchairs stand up.”
New England didn’t have a selection in round five. The Patriots then began their round 6 with their first defensive selection of the draft.
Marcellas Dial, a cornerback from South Carolina was the Patriots first and only defensive player drafted.
Thirteen picks later the Patriots went with a second quarterback drafting Joe Milton out of Tennessee.
To wrap up the draft New England selected Jaheim Bell, a tight end from Florida State.
