After drafting Drake Maye with the third overall selection New England had only one pick in round two and a single selection in round three.
With their second round pick the Patriots added a new offensive weapon that could possibly be catching passes from Drake Maye. The 37th selection was used on Ja’Lynn Polk out of Washington. Polk was the fourth Washington player drafted and the first husky drafted in the second round.
New England continued drafting for the offensive side of the ball with their 68th selection. The Patriots went offensive tackle selecting Caedan Wallace from Penn State. Wallace was the second Penn State offensive tackle drafted and the third Penn State player drafted overall.
The Patriots through two days of the draft hadn’t gone defense for one selection in what an offense filled draft so far, especially day one.
