It’s that time of year again! Baseball is in full swing, with the Red Sox playing at Fenway Park, the Worcester at Polar Park in Worcester and the Yard Goats, Sea Dogs, and Fisher Cats back in Double-A action. Arena Football has also found a new home in Lowell with the Massachusetts Pirates.
But nothing screams spring more than college football, maroon and gold, and the Jay McGillis Memorial Spring Game at Boston College.
With Thomas Castellanos leading the team, the guys were back on the gridiron this week, putting on a strong practice in Chestnut Hill.
Running back Datrell Jones found the end zone twice, and Ismael Zamor had an outstanding day of practice, with multiple receptions and a touchdown catch. The defense also showed up with Kam Arnold and Donovan Ezeiruaku combining to snuff out a sweep attempt from the offense.
This year’s Jay McGillis Memorial Spring Football game is even more exciting as fans will get a chance to see Bill O’Brien, former offensive coordinator for the New England Patriots, who is now the 37th head coach in program history.
The game on Saturday, April 13, at Alumni Stadium, will kick off at Noon ET and be broadcast nationally on ACC Network. Best of all, admission to Saturday’s game is completely free
