On March 25th the Connecticut Sun announced a partnership for this upcoming WNBA season with Walgreens. Walgreens will be the Official Retail Wellness Partner of the Connecticut Sun.
“Today marks a significant milestone as Walgreens proudly embarks on a partnership with the Connecticut Sun for the 2024 season. Our shared commitment to prioritize women’s health resonates deeply with our mission at Walgreens. By joining forces with the Connecticut Sun, we’re not just sponsoring a team; we’re investing in the well-being of our communities. This collaboration underscores our dedication to making a positive impact on community healthcare and creating more joyful lives through better health. Together, we look forward to leveraging our resources to amplify community outreach initiatives, ensuring that our collective efforts leave a lasting, positive legacy across New England and beyond.” – Tracey D. Brown, EVP, President Walgreens Retail & Chief Customer Officer
Created with a desire to shine a light on the power of prioritizing women’s health and the strength it takes to live authentically both on and off the court, this partnership will incorporate several different areas of the Connecticut Sun organization.
This includes serving as the presenting sponsor of the Connecticut Sun home opener against the Indiana Fever on May 14 at 8:00PM EST, a three-part content series highlighting Sun players, benefits for Connecticut Sun season ticket members, and assisting in various community outreach initiatives, most notably sponsoring a Connecticut Sun “Change on Wheels” mobile outreach unit.
The outreach unit will allow the Connecticut Sun community relations team to access a wider range of communities in the New England area.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Walgreens–an organization committed to uplifting women and making meaningful strides in our local community—as our Official Women’s Personal Care Partner. Their investment in our organization, specifically through our community initiatives, will provide us with valuable resources to make our impact go further in our local community and throughout New England.” – Morgan Tuck, Director of Franchise Development and Assistant General Manager
Walgreens will also be the sponsor of a new Connecticut Sun Game Action Give Back called Walgreens Assist. For every assist a Connecticut Sun player gets during the 2024 season, Walgreens will donate $10 to Vitamin Angels, a non-profit that focuses on providing nutrients to pregnant and postpartum mothers.
