In a game that took place on Thursday, the Boston Red Sox suffered a defeat against the Philadelphia Phillies in Clearwater. The final score was 6-1 in favor of the Phillies.
The starting pitcher for the Red Sox was Josh Winckowski, who pitched for 3.2 innings. During his time on the mound, Winckowski allowed eight hits and six runs, while striking out just two batters. He threw a total of 61 pitches, with 41 of them being strikes.
In the seventh inning, Jamie Westbrook of the Red Sox hit a solo home run, which was the only run scored by the team throughout the game.
