Red Sox Shutout Rays, 4-0 In The Dominican Republic

On Saturday night, the Boston Red Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays played against each other at Estadio Quisqueya in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, as part of Major League Baseball’s 2024 World Tour. The game ended with the Red Sox winning 4-0, making their current sprin training record 9-6-1.

The game started with Ceddanne Rafaela, who opened up the game for the Red Sox, hitting a double in the top of the first inning. This helped Jarren Duran and Trevor Story to score, making it a 2-0 game. Rafael Devers scored at the top of the third inning, making it a 3-0 game. At the top of the sixth inning, Enmanuel Valdez hurled a home run 335 feet at 108 mph, putting the Sox out front 4-0.

Kutter Crawford started for the Red Sox and pitched for three innings, allowing just two hits and striking out two players. Isaiah Campbell replaced Crawford and pitched for one inning, allowing no hits and striking out one player. Josh Winckowski then replaced Campbell and pitched for three innings, allowing just two hits and striking out one player. Finally, Brennan Bernardino and Luis Guerrero each pitched for one inning, allowing no hits, and Bernardino struck out one player.

The Red Sox will play against the Rays again at Estadio Quisqueya on Sunday, with the Sox playing as the home team and the Rays playing as the visiting team.
